Giacomo Erba
(Milan, Italy, 2001) is a visual artist active in Milan where he attends the “New Technologies of Art” course at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. In 2022 he produced the publication “Rizoma” with Chippendale Studio; in 2023 he exhibited at the photography fair “The Phair” in Turin and took part in the first edition of “Milano Centrale Festival” with the installation “300,000 (000)” curated by Giulia Moscheni. Her artistic practice is aimed at investigating the natural environment through the collection of some of its organic elements taken from their contexts, and subsequently decontextualised in photographic form. The individual fragments, maintained in their original characters, compose a rich organic archive probed through the expressive and technical potential of the photographic medium and some software programmes. The manipulation of the images returns an entirely personal landscape characterised by an aesthetic linked to science, and an almost tactile consistency of the subjects reminiscent of pictorial matter.
